Virtual Travel Magazine
It first began as a simple
blog under the name of Travelflare.
As ideas and articles began to develop, the blog was not strong
enough to survive. It wanted to make a difference in the virtual
world, portraying stories written by international writers and
sharing the unique reality of our evolving Earth. That is when
Lusine and Vahagn came together to work their magic and to produce
an online travel magazine. And so The Compass was born…
It particularly focuses on unique aspects of culture, adventure,
arts and the everyday from around the world. It portrays the unknown
beauty untouched by the tourists, the unfamiliar and the most
unusual. As the slogan gives it away, The Compass is a unique
perspective on culture and adventure
from around the globe.

Lusine’s passion
for travel began in 2003 when she was accepted to participate
in a study exchange program to France. Since then she became
addicted to exploring the world and writing about her experiences
along the way.
In May 2007 she created her first online blog
Travelflare
with the idea of transforming it into a virtual magazine
down the road. She has published numerous articles at a
corporate magazine Voice while working as a travel agent,
and she has contributed to The Brave New Traveler
and is a member of Matador Travel. Based in Toronto,
Lusine’s curiosity for travel has taken her through
most of Western Europe as an employee and a student. She
possesses an international flare of education with an Honours
BA in Communication Studies and French, a Diploma in Travel
and Tourism and language certificates from Spain and Italy.

Born in Europe and raised in Canada, her enthusiasm inspired
her to learn seven languages and still counting. She believes
the best way to travel means to immerse oneself in a new culture,
to let go of expectations and to embrace the unfamiliar.
