Welcome to ‘Unico’- a new festival
calendar, covering some of the unique events unknown to
many, bizarre to others and nostalgic to locals. The calendar
will be revised monthly until we have a collection for a
full year. Everyone is encouraged to participate by suggesting
festivals below in the comments.

Duck Race Tübingen, Germany

of the Stars Chinthetche, Malawi, Africa
The culture of Malawi comes alive with music at the
shores of beautiful Lake Malawi. Since 2004 the festival
has been raising money for the Children in Wilderness
charity.

of the Skulls (Festival de las Calaveras) Aguascalientes, Mexico
Honoring the dead, you will experience a skeleton parade
and an abundance of artistically painted skulls.

Have you ever tried a Bacio? Translated into ‘Kiss’,
it is a dark chocolate topped with a nut and a hidden
poem. This festival invites all the chocolate lovers
with its fame coming from Bacio.

Erfoud Date Festival Erfoud, Morocco
If you love dates, you will love this three day festival.
In Morocco dates are a token of good luck. Hence, after
the harvest of million date palms, the streets of Erfoud
pile up with dates, traditional music and food. Don’t
miss the ‘Miss Date’ fashion parade.

Witch Festival Chalindrey, France
It is more than Halloween, it seeks to evoke its Celtic
roots of this quaint little town known for witch hunts
dating into the 16th century.
