Welcome to ‘Unico’- a new festival calendar, covering some of the unique events unknown to many, bizarre to others and nostalgic to locals. The calendar will be revised monthly until we have a collection for a full year. Everyone is encouraged to participate by suggesting festivals below in the comments.

Lake of the Stars

The culture of Malawi comes alive with music at the shores of beautiful Lake Malawi. Since 2004 the festival has been raising money for the Children in Wilderness charity.

Festival of the Skulls (Festival de las Calaveras)
Aguascalientes, Mexico
Honoring the dead, you will experience a skeleton parade and an abundance of artistically painted skulls.

Have you ever tried a Bacio? Translated into ‘Kiss’, it is a dark chocolate topped with a nut and a hidden poem. This festival invites all the chocolate lovers with its fame coming from Bacio.
