Being a victim of the Travel Bug I always search for a unique
experience. Three weeks ago I decided to study Spanish in Mexico.
What better way to learn a language than in a paradise of turquoise
waters, Latin music, tacos and Spanish speaking locals. My school
was located in the Mexican suburbs of Playa del Carmen, hidden
among palm trees, colourful hammocks and singing birds, far away
from the tourist traps. Instead of a five star resort I opted
for a cosy little hotel of ten rooms, a historic building which
is now being catered as a student residence.

Back from my nostalgic language vacation, my tongue still speaks
out the occasional Hola and Gracias in confusion
with its English alternatives. Because of this Latin inspiration
I will dedicate the June Issue to everything that is Latino. Today
however, we are taking a journey to the East…
This month Ashley and Deborah are inviting us on a tour to Zanzibar
and to South Africa’s Private Reserves. We then join Diana
on the beaches of Saranda, an unspoiled pearl of Albania. After
taking a swim in the Ionian Sea, we head South-East towards Malaysia
where Neha gives us an express tour of the main sites. Upon our
return, join me through the winding alleys of Seville as we hunt
for some authentic tapas.
